3000 AD and Derek Smart’s Line of Defense isn’t meant to be a mind-boggling melange of intricate mechanics. Instead, this massively multiplayer sci-fi shooter is meant to be a little more approachable, a little bit easier to understand in comparison to 3000 AD’s usually ultra-dense games. From what’s been shown so far, though it’s supposed to be more accessible, there still appears to be plenty of depth and detail for dedicated gamers to dig into in this PvP-only experience.

3000AD’s latest title is a sci-fi MMOFPS (and pure PvP game) set in the same distant future as the company’s previous efforts. It features two factions, a large open world, and a free-to-play business model. Smart told us that it basically functions with eight keys — your standard WASD layout plus a couple of additional binds.

In the coming weeks leading up to the game’s end of June release, we will be posting dev blogs, game shots, information about the assets (the pics are up), gameplay videos etc.

And don’t forget to register for a chance to get a spot in the Beta. Since the number of Beta applicants will be limited, the sooner you register, the better your chances of being accepted. If accepted, you will be sent a Beta code when the Beta is live (sometime in May/June timeframe). You can then use that code to create your account, download the game and join in the mayhem.
